When you wake up in the morning after a goodnight sleep and still feels headache. Sometimes you feel dizzy even after eating well. These can be telltale signs of high blood pressure, otherwise called High Blood Pressure. 

A lot of people do not know they have high bp until they check from their doctors. But high blood pressure kills more than other ailments. The phoney aspect is that its tied to many ailments such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and a host of others.

As a naturopath( natural health) practitioner I have found that it helps to manage this health challenge naturally than through conventional drugs. Most conventional drugs are habitual and they end up causing more damage to the system.

So what can be done naturally?

1. All high bp patients need to monitor thier health always. They should avoid stress or anything that puts them into unnecessary pressure. 

2. Secondly, nutrition is key. Poor eating habits can worsen or ignite high bp. If your the type that eat fast foods, fried foods and drink alcohol to excess then your likely to have high bp overtime.

Against this backdrop, learn to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Cut down on alcohol, and fried and fatty foods. Fatty foods clog our arteries and make blood flow difficult. This can increase heart beat, as the heart struggles to circulate blood in the body.

3. Learn to do exercise. This can be running, jogging and swimming. Living an active life is key in reducing high bp. 

4. Learn to make friends and enjoy relationships with people. Loneliness can worsen high bp. A problem shares is a problem solved says one adage.

5. Embrace the use of herbs. Many bp drugs have serious side effects. Herbs are safer and natural. I advise high bp patients to use spices like ginger,turmeric, cinnamon and garlic.

Garlic is one of the most effective, it contains allicin that helps opens the arteries and relaxes the veins. 

I also advise bp patients to eat lots of banana, watermelon and apples. These fruits contain pottasium, which are very key in helping the heart to work well.
